Regional Natural Park of the Caps and Opal Marsh

HAUTS-DE-FRANCE

France’s champion of vegetable production, producer of 10% of the French milk and 20 millions of champagne bottles…the Hauts-de-France Region is the ultimate land of agriculture. With more than 2 million hectares of land dedicated to agriculture, Hauts-de-France is the first agricultural region of the country (main products are cereals and vegetables, i.e. wheat, sugar beets, potatoes, endives…).

Another major asset of the Region is the leading position it assumes in the agro-food industry (ranked 1st in FR) with more than 1300 companies and 53000 jobs.

When it comes to the bioeconomy, the regional ecosystem is incredibly rich: local production of sustainable biomass, a diversified agriculture supported by famers with a high level of skills & training, research labs and renowned companies and clusters (such as IAR, which is a founding member of the BIC consortium within the Biobased Industries PPP).

The Hauts-de-France Region aims at enabling the regional bioeconomy to grow to its fullest potential, while contributing to the development of its territories for the benefits of its inhabitants.
